Adeniyi Olatunji Familoni
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Adeniyi Olatunji Familoni, attended St. Thomas Aquinas College, Akure and graduated from the famous Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Nigeria, where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree (Honours class) in 1994. He was admitted into the Nigerian Bar to practice as a solicitor and advocate in 1995 and the following year, was appointed as a State Counsel in the Ekiti State Ministry of Justice, where within five years of working, was appointed as Head of Department, Public Prosecutions.
He functioned in that capacity for two years before he was again assigned to head the Civil Litigations Department of the Ministry. In 2007, Mr. Familoni was appointed the Pioneer Chief Executive Officer of the Ekiti State Citizens’ Rights Centre, the State’s free mediation and legal aid services Agency. He became the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ekiti State in 2011.
Mr. Familoni holds a Masters Degree in International Law from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Diploma in Biblical Studies from the International School of Ministry, Los Alamitos, CA, U.S.A. He was a pioneer recipient of the Ekiti State Civil Service Merit Award in June, 2006 and has been privileged to subsequently manage and mentor two recipients of the same award and one recipient of the prestigious National Productivity Order of Merit Award in the Ministry. He has also served as member of several Panels and Commissions of Inquiry set up by the Ekiti State Government.
Mr. Familoni is happily married with three sons and attends Grace Covenant Centre, a thriving independent church in Ado, the State’s capital city, where he actively serves as an Assistant Pastor.
