Sunday Bamidele Julius Bamise (SBJ) is the Director, Civil Litigation. He was born to the Royal family of Owoyomi Oribamise Dynasty of Oye-Ekiti on April 4, 1968. He is a native of Oye-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State. He started his academic pursuit at the United Primary School, Oye-Ekiti where he had his Primary School Leaving Certificate in 1980 and his Secondary School Certificate between 1987 and 1988 both at AKure Muslim College and School of Basic Studies in Akure, old Ondo State. He proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State for his LLB and attended the Nigerian Law School, Abuja for his Bachelor of Law (BL) and was called to the Nigerian Bar in September, 1999. He obtained his LLM Degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State in 2010 and Post Graduate Diploma (PGDLD) in Legislative Drafting at the Nigeria Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Lagos in 2005.
SBJ Bamise had his National Youth Service in 1998 and commenced private legal practice at Prince Jaiyeola Faloye & Co, Akure, Ondo State in 1999. He joined the Services of Ekiti State Ministry of Justice as State Counsel in October 1999 and rose through the ranks and has held several positions including Director, Department of Legal Drafting and Corporate Law and currently as Director, Civil Litigation Department of the Ministry of Justice, Ekiti State.
By virtue of his experience as a Draftman, especially in Legislative Drafting, he was appointed as a Designated Officer, (DO) for the Review, Compilation and Publication of the First Edition, Laws of Ekiti State in South Africa in 2009. He had equally been appointed in the following capacities at different periods: Member, Administrative Panel of Inquiry on Local Governments, in Ekiti State, 2003; Member, Committee on the Re-establishment of Ekiti State Water Corporation, 2007; Secretary, visitation panel to College of Education, Ikere Ekiti between July 2007-Dec. 2007; Member, Administrative Panel of Inquiry on the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State, 2009.; Designation Officer, for the review, compilation and Publication of the Laws of Ekiti State, South Africa, 2009; Member, Committee on White Paper on monitization of official vehicles to public office holders in Ekiti State,2010; Chairman, Committee for the review of Family Court System in Ekiti State, 2013; Member, Committee for the review of Ekiti State, Customary Court Law, 2013; Member, Committee for the review of Ekiti State, Teaching Service Commission Law, 2013; Legal consultant on the review of Ekiti State, Forestry Law, 2014 ; Counsel to the Commission of Inquiry into the finances of Ekiti State, between 2010-2014, 2017 and Member, Committee for the Review of the 2nd Edition, Laws of Ekiti State, 2019.
As a community leader, he had also been appointed to serve his community in the following capacities at different periods: National Legal Adviser, Oye Progressive Union(OPU) between 2000-2004 &2012-2015; Member ,Chieftaincy Review Committee, Oye Ekiti in 2009; Secretary, Upoti Royal Family, Idofin, Oye-Ekiti 2015 till date; Secretary, Idofin Forum, Oye-Ekiti 2009 till date; Secretary, Egbe Omo Idofin,Ado Ekiti Branch 2009 till date; Chairman, Committee for the Review of Oye Progressive Union (OPU) Constitution, 2013 and Zonal Coordinator, Ekiti/Ondo State St. Augustine College Oye-Ekiti Old Student Association.
