Felix Akinola, Esq is a Deputy Director in the Chambers of the Hon. Attorney
General of Ekiti State. He is also the Secretary/Director Legal Services in the
State Housing Corporation. He holds a first degree in Law from the then
University of Ado Ekiti and a Masters Degree from Obafemi Awolowo University
(OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun State. He has his Ph.D in view.

Felix was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004. On the completion of his National
Youths Service in Abuja, he was immediately employed as a Counsel in the
Chambers of I. G. HARUNA & CO. where he worked until his employment by the
State Civil Service Commission as a Legal Officers. His core areas of professional
experiences are Legal Research, Mediation, Legal Drafting and General Corporate
Practice.

He has served in various official capacities in the Ministry and was once the
Personal Assistant to a former Attorney General in Ekiti State – Gboyega Oyewole
Esq. Felix has been assigned many Ad-hoc duties, but notable among them was
his attachment to the Citizens Rights’ Centre under the able leadership of A. O.
Familoni Esq where, through mediation, recorded a landmark victory by not only
making the biggest debt recovery for an indigent citizen, but also succeeded in
reconciling warring parties in that community – a task considered to be an
impossible one considering the peculiarity of the situation at that time. That
particular intervention did not only help in boosting the image of the centre, it
also accentuated the confidence people reposed in it.. He was and still an active
member of SACA in Ekiti State .

As a Draftsman, he has worked in conjuction with other Counsel in the
department of Legal Drafting to prepare and draft many Bills like the bill on The
Prohibition Of Cattle And Other Ruminants Grazing In Ekiti State which was the
very first of its kind in the country and the freedom of information Bill.

He has also served in various Committees such as the Agric
Transformation Committee, The Community Watch Group Committee, where he
served as the Secretary and many others. He has equally attended many
workshops and Training with the most recent being the one on Ease Of Doing
Business in Ekiti State organized by the DFID where , as the leader of his group,
presented a paper on Contract Enforcement In Ekiti State. At the end of the
presentation, he succeeded in positively influencing the rating of Ekiti State by
the World Bank as an Investment friendly State with adequate legislations to
cater for Investors' Interest.. He is presently the Lead Draftman in the
Committee set up by the Government to prepare a draft of the Ekiti State Public
Finance Management Law.

In his academic pursuit, he has written two theses :The Death Penanlty
and Human Rights – A Critical Analysis of the Practice and Global Trends
Towards its abolition (LL.B 2003), The Organization of Petroleum Export
Countries (OPEC) – An Apprised of its fundamental Mandate, Prospects and
Challenges (LLM 2007) and has presented many seminal papers on different
legal fields such as: Literature Review and Theoretical Framework As
Resstruments (Mphil 2014) , Double—Deck Marriage ( OAU 2006), Problems Of
Jurisdiction Over Crimes Committed On Board Aircraft (OAU 2006), A Critical
Appraisal of the privileged and Humanities of United Nations Specialized.
Agencies And Their Staff members (OAU 2006) and Human Rights under Military
Regime (2002), to mention just a few.

Felix Akinola belongs to the Ado Ekiti branch of the Nigerian Bar
Association and has attended many Annual Conferences Organized by this noble
body. He attended the Law pavilion software training module on CA&ILP 001
and other seminars within and outside Ekiti in his official capacity as a counsel in
the Ministry of Justice, Ekiti State.
